About Us

The Centre for Intelligence and Security Analysis (CISA) Abuja,

is a multi-disciplinary research Centre, established by DSS in 2020 to specifically study key intelligence and security issues, and examine Government and institutional policies that impact on Nigeria, the African Continent and Global security environment in general.

The Centre is headed by a seasoned retired Intelligence Chief, Aminu CHINDO, fdc, with vast knowledge and cutting-edge experience in the domestic and international intelligence scene. He is closely supported by Ahmed SALLEH, mni, another Intelligence Chief of repute.

CISA's team of Consultants, Advisors and Interns are carefully selected from the academia and the intelligence sector to drive the Centre's mission. The Centre maintains a close link with members of the academia and intelligence community, to deliver top-notch policy expertise, with robust analysis and recommendations on national and global developments.

The Centre is currently situated at the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), Abuja.

Our Mandate

To conduct research into contemporary and emerging threats and other issues of security interest.

ii. Organize seminars, workshops, dialogue sessions/conferences with a view to evolving inputs for service exertions in National Security management.

iii. Execute professional training and certification programs in areas such as Security Administration, Risk/Threat assessment and management;

iv. Issuance of National Threat Estimate to aid national security planning and execution;

v. Engage in collaborations, liaisons and linkages with relevant individuals and organizations for the purposes of conducting joint research and training;

vi. Identify emerging leaders in diverse fields of national life, spanning the Arts, innovation, Governance, Media, Technology, Sports, Academia and Business. This is with a view to engaging and sensitizing them on the security ramifications of their statuses and the role they can play vis-à- vis the work of the Centre.

Our Core

Objectives

To be an outstanding Centre for the evolvement of critical intelligence estimates and policy inputs for the development of Nigeria, the African region and the sustenance of global peace and stability.

To nurture, develop and bring to bear intelligence products, security policies, critical intellectual resources and analytical skills in order to change the narrative in National and Global security management.

To provide a platform for dialogue and research on security issues amongst security experts, members of the academia and policymakers.

To conduct professional training and certification programmes in such areas as Security Administration, Risk/Threat Assessment Management, Intelligence Analysis, Emerging Leaders and Crisis Management Techniques for individuals, groups and organizations.

To issue annual Threat Estimates to aid National Security Planning and Execution.

Any other responsibility which the DGSS may assign the Centre.
